REDWOOD NATIONAL AND STATE PARKS ELOPEMENT & WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS
We’re Eastlyn & Joshua, wedding and elopement photographers who have photographed intimate celebrations throughout Redwood National and State Parks and nearby coastal areas, with a focus on days that feel rooted in where they’re happening.
Redwood National and State Parks feel slow in a way that’s hard to describe.
Light filtering through dense canopy. Ferns lining quiet trails. The hush that settles in when you step between trees that have been standing for centuries.
It’s a place that naturally invites stillness.
If you’re planning an elopement or small wedding in Redwood National and State Parks, we’d love to help tell that story in a way that feels honest and unforced.
Some of our favorite memories in the redwoods were created with Hannah & Michael during their Jedediah Smith elopement, and with Keary & Rustin during their Prairie Creek Redwoods elopement alongside their pug, Mister Meatloaf.
OUR APPROACH TO REDWOOD ELOPEMENTS & WEDDINGS
We’re drawn to photographing the way people naturally exist together.
The way you reach for each other.
The quiet pauses.
The small moments that don’t ask to be staged.
We offer gentle direction when it’s helpful and plenty of space when things are unfolding on their own.
The redwoods bring a presence to a wedding day that doesn’t need embellishment. The environment already carries weight and history. Our role is to pay attention and document what’s real.
When you look back at your photos, we want you to recognize yourselves in them and remember what it felt like to be there together.
Part of our role is helping you choose places that feel meaningful and practical, whether that means staying tucked into the forest, adding a coastal stop, or planning around accessibility and dogs. If you’re curious what that can look like in practice, we’ve shared more about combining a Redwood elopement with a beach session here.
WHY ELOPE IN REDWOOD NATIONAL AND STATE PARKS
Redwood National and State Parks offer a rare combination of environments in one place.
Towering old-growth forest.
Lush fern-filled canyons.
Open coastline.
Soft, filtered light.
Ceremonies often take place within the forest itself, surrounded by massive trunks and moss-covered ground. Others choose more open clearings, or combine forest locations with time along the coast.
Some areas we’re especially drawn to include:
Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Fern Canyon
Coastal overlooks and beaches within the park system
The Redwoods proximity to so many beautiful coastal areas outside the park system
Beyond the park boundaries, there are also nearby stretches of coastline and forest we love returning to for portraits or quiet moments, including Collage Cove near Trinidad, Gold Bluffs Beach, and up the coast into southern Oregon at Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor near Brookings. These areas pair beautifully with a redwoods ceremony and add variety to the visual story of the day. We walk through this pairing in more detail in our guide to combining a Redwood elopement with a beach session.
It’s an ideal place for couples who feel connected to forests, who value quiet over spectacle, and who want their day to feel simple and grounded.
TWO LEAD PHOTOGRAPHERS, ONE SHARED APPROACH
We photograph every elopement and wedding together as two lead photographers.
Working as a two–photographer team allows us to move fluidly through the day. One of us might be focused on the wider scene, while the other notices what’s happening quietly between you.
Joshua brings a steady, calming presence.
Eastlyn tends to notice light, movement, and subtle emotion.
Together, we document both the scale of the landscape and the intimacy of your connection.
Experienced Redwood National Park Wedding and Elopement Photographers
One of the most important aspects of any wedding is the ceremony location. Redwood National and State Parks has no shortage of beautiful options that offer ceremony locations that feel immersive and grounded, from secluded forest clearings to coastal edges within the park system.
The most popular location for ceremonies is in the midst of the towering redwoods themselves, allowing you and any guests to truly immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the park. The filtered sunlight and the earthy scent of the forest create a quiet, immersive setting shaped by filtered light, scale, and stillness.
Whether you choose to have your ceremony deep in the heart of the forest or in a more open area, you can rest assured that every moment will be captured in stunning detail. As photographers experienced working within National Park systems, we help guide couples through permit requirements, seasonal considerations, accessibility, and location planning, as well as give suggestions to best times of year or days, and ideas for ceremony and portrait spots that fit your personalities and preferences. Including help with how to bring your dog to your Redwood National and State Parks elopement.

BEST TIME OF YEAR FOR A REDWOOD ELOPEMENT OR WEDDING
Redwood National and State Parks have a temperate coastal climate and can be visited year-round.
Summer: Mild, drier, and popular
Winter: Rainy, darker, and quieter
Spring & Fall (April, May, October): Often a sweet spot with fewer crowds and moody atmosphere
Temperatures commonly range from the 40s to 60s. Fog is possible in any season and is part of what gives the redwoods their character.
We help couples plan with these conditions in mind.

We can help guide you toward the appropriate permit resources and walk you through what to expect.
If you’re inviting guests, it’s important that everyone understands the non-exclusive nature of these spaces so interactions with other visitors remain respectful.
