Eastlyn and Joshua,
A husband and wife photography team, documenting love, unconventionally.
OUR PHOTOGRAPHY PHILOSOPHY
Almost all wedding days tend to cause us to refocus, and remind us that it’s not about “me,” or impressing the audience. Others matter more anything, and that when someone’s life is changing on their wedding day, we need to be present to the moments in front of us.
With that said, our work is extremely relational. Working with wedding couples as a couple, two-on-two, is the best thing we've ever done for this business. As you're about to get married, let us, a husband and wife, share your joy with you by documenting your story in a way that we believe will be dynamic, unconventional and leave a lasting legacy for your future family.
Our style is unconventional because we're not your parent's photographers. We're not the audience's photographer. We're your photographers. We're not here to please anyone except you. We don't like staging awkward shots or forcing cheesy expressions. We're not going to drag around huge studio lights for portraits. Sure, we will take your official family photos after the ceremony, we'll get "the shot," but we're not going drag it out with a zillion poses.
Our heartfelt desire is to photograph people and moments as they are. We'll certainly give direction, but we want to capture you naturally and relaxed. We believe when you look at a photograph, you should be able not only to see it but feel its emotions. We want to capture you and your love's connection, we want to photograph you being yourselves. We work with you in a way to get those real emotions and your personalities to come out.
We Love to Travel but We love Our Home in Ohio too
We love living in Dayton, Ohio, so much so that we bought a capecod home in a vintage neighborhood chalked full of character and warmth. You’ll find us spending the evenings taking long walk around town or at a local metro park, working in our garden or sipping coffee in our favorite shops. And when we’re not at home or traveling for our couples, we’re most likely on the trail. Hiking together is our favorite activity.
From the start of this journey, we have firmly believed that if we’re going to advertise ourselves as travel photographers, than it’s so important that we gain experience shooting landscapes and weaving that with a human connection.
We don’t take that lightly. To put your mind at ease on our experience level, below is a list of places that we've already been, driven, camped, hiked and photographed (and definitely wouldn't mind exploring again)…
We’re excited to say that we’ve already traveled to 46 of the 50 United States, visited 4 provinces of Canada, and these U.S. National Parks: Acadia - Arches - Bryce Canyon - Canyonlands - Congaree - Crater Lake - Cuyahoga Valley - Everglades - Glacier Bay - Grand Canyon - Grand Teton - Great Sand Dunes - Great Smoky Mountains - Hot Springs - Joshua Tree - Kenai Fjords - Kings Canyon - Mammoth Cave - Mount Rainier - Olympic - Petrified Forest - Redwood - Rocky Mountain - Sequoia - Shenandoah - Yellowstone - Yosemite - Zion
