Engagement Pictures at Old Man's Cave

For the second part of our session together, we ventured down the trail from Old Man’s Cave to Lower Falls and back. Melting ice sickles still lined the outcroppings so we had to proceed with caution, but as a result of these conditions, the water was a beautiful, milky blue. In the summer, like most Ohio waterways, the creek in this canyon turns murky and muddy, so seeing it this pristine was a treat.

Hearken: An Interview with Storyteller and Educator Breanne Rodgers

In March we had the privilege of collaborating with Breanne and Jonathan Rodgers to create images for their beautiful new brand Hearken. As we’re wedding photographers, this was an entirely new experience for us. One thing we love about wedding photography is the way it can be done in a documentary style; so for this shoot we wanted to use that passion by documenting a “day-in-the-life” of the Rodgers family and simultaneously capture the heart of what they’ve created Hearken to be.

Romantic Engagement Pictures in a Treehouse

As dawn broke on this cold February day, the brisk southwestern wind whistled through the surrounding woodland, and the first light of day filled the tree house cabin with its warm good morning rays. Stephen started the morning by making Dagger Mountain Coffee pour-overs, and he and Kaity enjoyed the warmth of their mugs as they cuddled on the corner couch. The rest of the day was filled with music, worship and a little bit of forest dancing.

Canyonlands National Park Winter Engagement Session

Stewart and Mindy traveled three hours from Salt Lake City to meet Joshua and me at the Island in the Sky in Canyonlands National Park. When we first arrived, the entire park was covered in a dense fog and we couldn't even see ten feet in front of us. Typically I prefer fog, but in this case, it was making it impossible to see into the canyon. I directed Stewart and Mindy where to stand and then, right before our eyes, the fog began to fall, giving real meaning to its name, Island in the Sky.
