Beautiful at Home Wedding in Rural Indiana

The song of katydid greeted the morning, and fireflies lit up the humid June night like twinkling stars. From dawn to dusk nature surrounded the day. Open fields dotted in golden wisps, and winsome shade foliage, like giant hosta and fern, joined the narrative.

At sunset, puffy clouds turned into a sky garden resembling pink peonies in fullest bloom.

Even the house, where everyone got ready, fit perfectly into the enchanting storybook like scene. It used to be a barn, but an artist remodeled it into a home plumb full of whimsy, adding creative elements, but leaving the rustic charm.

Brenna got ready in her own bedroom, and her purring kitty, sitting on the bed, watched as she braided flowers into her rosy hair. Honoring legacy and her sincere love for antiques, Brenna wore her grandmother’s wedding dress and gracefully festooned it with an airy cape.

Separately, both Brenna and Joey sat down to ponder and hand write deep and heartfelt words to one another, using the moments to be reflective, thankful and present.

Their ceremony was unique in that they included everyone by personally serving their guests communion. It was symbolic and significant, pointing hearts to their sincere faith and First Love.

They shared their first dance under strings of bistro lights, welcomed their family and friends under a candlelit tent, and poured mulled wine into their glasses to include their Irish heritage.

Brenna and Joey’s wedding aesthetic was simple elegance, inspired by a vintage feel and a love of tradition.

In reflection, Brenna & Joey’s honor and respect for their families, and their pure love for others was very evident. They used their own day as an opportunity to make everyone in attendance feel appreciated and known. Although many would say they had the “right,” neither bride nor groom had the “it’s about me” mentality, but were outward focused. SO FULL OF RADIANT LOVE AND KINDNESS—this one-in-a-billion pair are the type of people you want in your life.

We are so fully and so richly blessed by them. (#couplegoals) ;)

Portraits of the bride Amid ferns

The dark green hues and Brenna’s beautiful red hair, as organic complimentary colors, contrasted exquisitely.

Their beautiful backyard ceremony

The ceremony is the reason behind the entirety of every wedding. However, most of the time, they happen too quickly. Brenna and Joey slowed theirs’ down, by including their guests in the communion ritual.

Romantic Golden Hour Bride & Groom Portraits

As mentioned before, this gracious couple was focused on serving their guests. We were able to take these lovely photos of them at sunset, but we didn’t spend much time on portraits, as getting back to welcome and thank their guests was their highest priority.
