Personal Mentor Sessions
A large percent of being a photographer is the hard nitty gritty stuff of running your own business. Apart from building beautiful one-on-one relationships with your clients and creating images that will matter to them, you have to juggle things like customer service, writing, taxes, invoicing, bookkeeping, equipment upkeep, insurance, marketing, contracts, editing and managing your website and domain. We know it can be easy to get overwhelmed, and we're here to say that we're happy to come along side of you and offer any advice, counsel, and encouragement that you need.
All of our Mentorship Sessions are designed for photographers who already know the basics of working their camera in manual mode. Every session below is in Question & Answer format, with you leading the discussion in any direction that you want it to go.
Evening Skype session - $125
On a weekday evening, we'll schedule a live one-hour Skype (or Facetime) session, to go over any business and photography related topics of your choice. This session will be in Question & Answer format.
Casual in-person coffee shop session - $200*
We'll meet in person at your favorite coffee shop or cafe and answer any business and photography related questions that you'd like to know. Because everyone is awesome and has a different personality, we don't want you to feel pressured by a time restraint. On average, a session is about an hour to ninety minutes long, but if we feel that you need more time, we certainly won't be watching the clock to cut you off. (So take a deep breath, you can relax).
Also included in the price: coffee or drink of your choice
In-person coffee shop session and live shoot - $450*
On average, this Mentor Session is about three and a half hours long and includes the above 90-minute coffee shop discussion session, plus a live shoot with a real model or model couple. During the live shoot, you'll act as the lead, and we will be there to give you one-on-one coaching, tips and advice to tackle things like: • various and tricky lighting situations • posing and creating intimacy • how to bring out and capture real emotions • and technical related topics.
Also included in the price: coffee or drink of your choice, model honorarium, use of images taken during session for your portfolio
*The in-person Mentor Sessions are priced based on local Dayton, Ohio sessions. For other cities, please see our travel schedule; depending on availability, we may be able to travel to you for an additional cost.
